This is actually an old edge, but it is still really cool and worth mentioning. Frank Alexander Kraemer has developed an Android application that automatically discovers and registers to ICE environment. The edge may receive an URL to a picture, or just a text string. If an URL is sent, the device will show the picture. If a text is send, it will show the text. Simple, but still smart.

SINTEF has published a a report mentioning ISIS among other projects partly financed by NFR. It is a nice introduction to the NFR research programmes, and why it is important for big companies to participate to these. The report is open, and available here

Frank A Kraemer has created a Flickr-edge that posts URL to interesting photos to an actuator edge. I suspect some additional cool edges to match that edge are coming soon
